You might have found a person that you are interested in, and just when things were going well, you find out that he or she has a job that consumes the majority of his or her time. This can be a difficult barrier to navigate in a relationship, especially if you are not used to it. So, how do you decide if the relationship will work for you? The answer may be different for everyone, but here are a few suggestions.
1. Decide if you like time to yourself.
if you are a person that likes to have some time to yourself, then dating a person that has a demanding job might work for you. This can give you time to do the things that you want to do while your other half is working.
2. Decide if you have a support system outside of the relationship.
There might be times that you want to do something where your other half is out of town or on the job. Therefore, it is important to determine if you have friends that can go with you to the events that you would like to attend.
3. Decide if you are a person that needs constant in-person attention.
Some people like to have their other half there all of the time. If you are a person like this, then you might find that dating a person that works a lot doesn’t work for you.
Find a person that works with your lifestyle. Determine if the person that you are dating has a work life that is compatible with your wants and needs and understand that both of your goals are important.
